"Podkayne" is interesting. Did you get the version with both endings? Not his best work, IMO, but nice. First SF novel I ever read with a strong female character. Heh, and her brother serves to remind me that I could be a lot less fortunate with my sibs.

I have a 1993 Baen edition which is the first to include both endings and has a contest asking the readers to pick which ending to include in future editions. I'll let you know which ending I like best after I read it.
