Etiquette help!!!!

We are getting ready to send out the wedding invitations, and we haven't made note of our gift registry... I don't like to tell people where we are registered because we think it is presumptuous.... as if we are expecting presents, because we aren't. But if family and such did want helpful suggestions.... well.... we filled out a registry.

Should I wait until people ask if we are registered? We aren't 19 years old and without household items, and we truly do not need anything and don't need for people to go out and get us presents just 'because' we are asking them to come to the wedding.

Ask for a bunch of really crazy things. Or else things no one would ever get you. Might be a good time to pick up a new hobby.

What I would do is just wait until asked. Most folks will probably give you "pretties" that they select themselves,

You probably have two of everything already anyhow, it's not as though you are 18 without even a toaster or an extra set of bedsheets.

Then you can smile and say, "Well, some folks asked us, so we registered at XXX. Thanks for thinking of us."

Did you register at the local tack store? ;-)

Hmmmm......I haven't consulted the Book of Etiquette on this but I've always asked if the bride was registered and where.

So unless I've been an uncouth slob all these years, I would say wait until asked.

Heh, can't help you with the etiquette. When SSQ and I sent our wedding invites, we forgot to put a return address on the envelopes! Didn't even think about it until his Mom called asking where folks should send gifts. OOPS!
