In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
emetic \ umet'ik\, adjective, noun
emetically; adverb
1. Causing vomiting.
2. An agent that causes vomiting
As bloody as an abattoir, as emetic as a dozen bad oysters, this is a cross between Men In Black and Invasion of the Body Snatchers but without the former's humour and the latter's social punch.
--Philip French, "Dreamcatcher," The Observer, April 27, 2003
Etymology: [Late Latin emeticos, from Greek emetikos, from emetos, vomiting, from emein, to vomit. See wem - in Indo-European Roots.]

Not to make light of your ... lobes.
But it reminds me of a joke.
A guy goes to see his Doctor. He has been losing weight, and seems to have difficulty understanding the Doctor's instructions.
During the examination the Doctor discovers a tiny decorative ear of corn stuck inside his ear, and in the other, a green bean.
"I can understand now why you have come to me..." said the Doctor.
"...You're not eating right."

well my lobe doesn't get repaired til monday, so it is just limping along with the oversized hole in it.
but let me tell you the exciting news...Xsbrownie's team won their semifinal championship game tonight. it was extremely close, they were down by 8 at one point, but tied it up and won by 2 pts. My head is throbbing from screaming! They play in the final game at 9 on Sat AM, against the Lady Lakers!

The daughter is 20 today, no longer a teenager. Does that mean she is "growed up"? It's gonna be an odd, odd day for her mom. How old are 'ya when the baby is no longer a teenager?
