In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
emetic \ umet'ik\, adjective, noun
emetically; adverb
1. Causing vomiting.
2. An agent that causes vomiting
As bloody as an abattoir, as emetic as a dozen bad oysters, this is a cross between Men In Black and Invasion of the Body Snatchers but without the former's humour and the latter's social punch.
--Philip French, "Dreamcatcher," The Observer, April 27, 2003
Etymology: [Late Latin emeticos, from Greek emetikos, from emetos, vomiting, from emein, to vomit. See wem - in Indo-European Roots.]

I figured you for more of a Carla than a Diane lover. Now I'm wondering why my tagline is turning yellow on previews. Any ideas?

"I figured you for more of a Carla than a Diane lover." Well, I did like Carla's insouciance, but generally Carla was hopeless, and Diane was clueless.
Cheers, of course, was first class!
I still get a chuckle out of Coach saying, "...I know it like I know the back of my hand..." (looking at hand) "...Hey, where did that come from? How long has that been there?"

I see I do not receive a grade. This is obviously due to the fact that the non-lesbicious proclivities of a certain Texas girl in PA who shall remain nameless are so well known that anything I write aboot them can not qualify as news. For which I am more to be pitied than censured. Whereas the loathesome excesses committed by said nameless Texas etc. are more to be censured than pitied. Thank you. And thank you to Miss Garden who is too kind today.

Last night's Frasier episode featured some of the old cast from Cheers. It was a good one, about Cliffie's going away party.

"I'm wondering why my tagline is turning yellow on previews..." If this is actually happening, and not a joke that I don't get -- You might want to check your Theme, in your My Preferences section of your profile page. I have never tried different color schemes, I don't know what they do.

If your son or daughter swallows poison, first call 911, then administer the new Heinz-Kerry emitic. Guaranteed or double your money back!!
To: NicknamedBob
It's not a joke. It turns yellow whenever I preview a post.
