This should be an "interesting" thread...

I have one foot in the Constitution Party and one in the Republican Party. Let them earn my vote. As far as president goes, Bush earned my vote with his strong FMA support.

I still think it's a hoot that their "national chairman" is named Clymer.

If the FR poll this am is any indication they are only 2-3% of the FR posters at the time I voted.

What color are the candidates? And will they clash with the Libertarians? Remember Stan Jones, the "blue" candidate?
To: BlueLancer; Constitution Day; Poohbah; dighton; aculeus; hellinahandcart
So, um, what color are thier candidates?
San Jones, Libertarian Party candidate for Senate in Montanta. By law, in order to properly identify themselves as Libertarians, all members running for office must be blue. (It's a public safety issue)
Now, Green Party members do NOT have to color themselves any color, although many choose to anyway, but they DO have to wear a rotating "Drudge Siren" on their heads at all times.

The mods didn't think so. They moved it to "Chat."
To: Poohbah
When I said their platform was "interesting," I was being diplomatic. I can't believe these people are serious.
To: EveningStar
Yes. I love their platform. Not only do they mean what they say, they act on it unlike two other parties we could mention. :0)
To: EveningStar
what exactly is 'interesting' about their platform? I didn't read the entire thing, but from what I did read, I wish the Republican Party sounded a bit more like them.
To: CharlieOK1
Much of what they say I agree with, however some of what they say makes me a bit uneasy.
Preamble:
Are they advocating a theocracy?
AIDS:
"Criminal penalties should apply to those whose willful acts of omission or commission place members of the public at risk of contracting AIDS or HIV."
What's that all about? Are they going to throw gay men in jail?
Congressional Reform:
"...repeal the Seventeenth Amendment and return to state legislatures the function of electing the U.S. Senate."
Why should we trust the state legislators more than we trust ourselves?
Election Reform:
"In order to avoid election fraud, we urge an end to electronic or mechanical voting processes and a return to the manual counting process overseen by, and accountable to, voters resident in each precinct where the votes are cast."
And turning back the clock to 1900 will do this?
Electoral College:
Here they are doing away with the General Ticket in presidential elections. The general ticket shows the actual names of the presidential and vice presidential candidates. They wish to return to the time when only the names of the presidential electors were on the ballot. We would vote for the electors and give them the actual responsibility of electing the president.
Do you really want to trust someone else to elect the president?
