Engaged to be Married

I asked a lady to marry me over the weekend. She said yes. We have known each other about 6 weeks, dated 2. This is crazy, I know but we both felt it was right and I need God to lead the way. Please pray for us, Jerry and Dorothy. Pray that the pending issues will be resolved.

Best wishes to you both. My wife and I got engaged almost that quickly, and had about a 4-month engagement. I'd recommend at least that long to be sure both of you know what you're doing.

Why the rush? Why can't you wait to get to know each other a little more? Even 8 months or a year would be better. If you truly love each other you will get married and nothing will stop it from happening. You seem kinda anxious about this maybe you should give it more time. But my best wishes anyway to you and your significant other if that is what you two truly want. But its a happy occasion? Why do you need prayers if its supposed to be the right time for it? Just curious?

When I got serious with Mrs. Principle, I left the country for Africa for 3 months to figure out if it was love or hormones....turned out to be love, but I don't regret leaving the Country to find out.

Congrats!
BTW, while generally I agree, it's best to be around the person a good deal 1st, sometimes it just works!
My parents knew each other 3 months when my dad asked mom to marry him; another 3 mos to the wedding. They've been married 35+ years - much better couple than most I know, BTW! They actually mesh together, not "just put up w/it".
But the shocker - I just found out this Summer and would never have guessed - was my dad's sister. She and my uncle *knew* each other and "dated" for ONE WEEK! My uncle asked in that short time! They're approaching 50 years - and again, they're awesome together, and really terrific people all around.
