Depends entirely on the breed. Most handlers get down with the Pekingese and alot of the smaller breeds. There are a lot of breeds consider "baiting" breeds which self stack.

'pends on the breed. Oh, we all wish they would stack themselves....but it just doesn't work that way for all breeds. It takes lots of training, but not all breeds are that focused or calm. However, some judges expect certain breeds to stack themselves, regardless.

I didn't know this when we got our first GSD, but for about 6 months you can not pet their ears, you'll break the cartilage, making their ears flop.
To: Kath
so aty this level of competition that wouldn't make or break the win?
To: not_apathetic_anymore
No it would not. But I'll tell you what he hasn't a clue on how to go over the Pekingese. That was terrible. The Peke won't have a chance as he obviously knows nothing about them.

And I spent first months curling mine over by hand! Gotta get that lovely ear on a collie. Mine has picture perfect ears. He has faults, but his ears are not one of 'em!

I tried to snap a pic and post it but the batteries in my digital camera were dead. When I got up from the desk to get more, they woke up and wanted outside. Sorry.
I hope the foo-foo dog doesn't win.

Hey how come the handler of the Ibzian hound keeps juggling treats in its face? Is that normal? I don't see many other handlers doing this.

Does the crowd influence the judge's decision?
To: Severa
To bring out the expression in the dogs face.

Well, he's gonna write his choice in the book. Here we go! Any guesses?
To: Indy Pendance
Shouldn't.
To: Indy Pendance
No, the judge will pick what they think is best.
