The fix is already in.
Don King would be too moral for this bunch
The Westminster dog show makes WWF matches look legitimate.

Don't have an attitude. I'm a dog show handler. I simply corrected incorrect statments, period.

I love to see a dog at work doing what they were intended to do. But then, that would mean the Japanese Chin is left to sit around on the lap of an Emperor?!? LOL!

I saw a program on Animal Planet about dogs in Iraq, one was a Belgium melinouz (sp), really great dogs if what I saw was standard.

Sorry but you couldn't prove it by this post!

You are correct, the Terrier Group has had the most winners over the years. And you would find that Terrier breeders have been most of the judges over the years.

Dog Show results are not as predictable as you think. I have been showing dogs for years. Many like to call it political and sometimes it is. But all you have to do is look at those dogs. Most of the time the cream of the crop rises to the top.

Put yourself in my place. I make my living showing dogs. I have listened to some of the stupidest remarks about dog shows. One should really know what they are talking about before some of those statements are made. If they really knew anything about dog shows, they would not make them.

Who knew the Briard was the official dog of the French Army? I'm sure there must b e a joke or two there.
To: Indy Pendance
I'm afraid for the Border. The breed club really fought for years (internally) over the issue of AKC recognition. I think those who wanted to stay out may have been right. The Border Collie is starting to look heavier, prettier, and appearing a bit too "domesticated." This year's winner is more "typie" than last, so perhaps there is still hope they can hang on to all that is good about the Border.
To: qam1
You are correct. There have been a lot of Terrier judges doing Best in Show. The dogs that make it to the groups are mostly outstanding animals. From there it quit often comes down to the judges preference.

Wasn't it also the dog on "Married With Children" TV show? There's a joke (and a connection) there too.....
To: Indy Pendance
My mom is watching it - and making me tape NYPD Blue on my own VCR.
That said... you mean a dog show is actually FreeRepublic fodder?????????

Most of us are not dog show people, we are making personal observations and personal opinions on a political forum. Just chatting away. Whether right or wrong, we are all enjoying a show. Did you say you handle dogs, why aren't you at this show?
To: foreverfree
Hey...it's only once/year!
To: anniegetyourgun
I noticed that, like the cockers.
Collies are up!
