11th-HOUR LOOK AT 'PASSION' / THE TRUTH CAME OUT TOO LATE (Al Gore 111)

MEL Gibson isn't going to make it easy for critics of his controversial movie "The Passion of the Christ." The flick won't be screened for reviewers until just two days before its Ash Wednesday opening on Feb. 25, Post Movie Critic Lou Lumenick reports. Reps for the picture blamed the last-minute screening - usually reserved for such bombs as the Jennifer Lopez-Ben Affleck starrer "Gigli" - on its not being ready. "Passion" has been under attack over fears that it will fan anti- Semitism. Gibson has screened it for Christian conservatives - as well as at Internet movie gossip Harry Knowles' Butt-Numb-a-Thon film festival - but not for professional reviewers. Gibson, who claims his story comes straight from the Gospels, turned down a "courage" award from the Broadcast Film Critics Association, who insisted on seeing his flick first. It's widely believed he spurned an invitation from the Sundance Festival rather than subject "Passion" to the media elite prematurely.

Good that he won't ever work again, or good that he doesn't care?

Prophecy: Mel Gibson's Passion by Don & Bonnie Franklin
01/29/04

Don & I were invited to a prayer meeting in which the
intercessors began to pray concerning the upcoming movie, The Passion. In the midst of these prayers, the Holy Spirit came upon us and we began to prophesy the Word of the Lord ...

Prophecy by Don Franklin (audio file)

"And I am bringing up one out of Hollywood that will become a worldwide evangelist. I said, he will stand in pulpits and preach the Word of God. He will have crusades, saith the Lord. I am gonna bring this man, Gibson, out of obscurity and into prominence in the
Christian realm.

He will stand as a mighty man of valor. He will be the Word of the Lord. He is a braveheart. He is all the things that he?s portrayed in these movies. He is my man, saith God. He is my man, saith God. He is my man, saith God.

Do not criticize this one who comes up out of the wilderness of sin and desolation and desires to serve his God. He has a heart as large as the Amazon River for the things of God. You've just begun to see what he?s gonna do. You?ve just begun to see what he's gonna accomplish. He will bring literally millions to the Cross.

Support this man in prayer. Support this man in prayer. Support this brother with gifts and offerings. Encourage him to the level of ministry that I want him to come into. This man is an evangelist for me. This man is a Billy Graham for me. This man is a current generation leader, saith God.

I prepared him for years, and years, and years behind the scenes, and now he comes forward with thunder in his right-hand and lightening in his left and the Word of the Lord is gonna hit him. He will prophesy to the nation. He will be a mighty weapon in the hand of God and he will go to his fathers in great peace, saith the Lord, having
accomplished the mission that I laid on him."

Prophecy by Bonnie Franklin (audio file)

"And why would you find it a hard thing that I would choose a man of passion to pen The Passion? Why would you find it a hard thing that I would choose a man who has been brave, a man who has been a warrior to go forth and be a brave warrior for Me and for this generation? For you shall even see, as the one who plays the braveheart who brought that kingdom into its time of liberty and
freedom ? all of Scotland now is free ? shall you not see many men's hearts and lives be changed and brought into the freedom of the Holy Spirit? He does even speak of the Holy Spirit.

So I would say this day to embrace your brother of the Catholic faith, of the Catholic denomination, for he shall bring more to the Kingdom of God in one day than you will bring to the Kingdom of God in a lifetime. No, not a thousand, no, not ten thousand, but a hundred thousand in a day! I said, a hundred thousand in a day, and when the
souls are counted up it shall be into the millions that are brought into the Kingdom for such a time as this, for such a time as this.

And yea, even fifty days from now when men and women sit down to speak and talk of political things they will say, ?Back then I was gonna vote for this one, but now I?m gonna vote for a man of God.?

So, yea, you shall see the Kingdom of God grow and the Kingdom of God change, but you shall also see the kingdoms on this earth change as many, many souls are turned to the heart of their God and their hearts are changed."

And I saw in my spirit that in the future days there will be great gatherings of people coming together in one accord praising and worshipping God. People of every walk of life, of every denomination, nation and tongue, they will come together as a family all birthed into the kingdom of God during one event, the showing of The Passion.

Our family has already purchased tickets through the internet to "The Passion Of The Christ" which comes out Feb.25th, and sent a letter of encouragment to Mel Gibson, through the www.passionofthechrist.com website. It's a great site, and has some interesting and inspiring info about the cast and what they went through while making the film. Certainly worth checking out.

This movie will not be accurate according to the Scriptures because it is based on Roman Catholic's beliefs. Mel is backing off the the end of the picture that implies/says the Jews killed Christ. And they did.

I Tim 2:15
Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:

This is not to say I'm not going to watch the movie but I know it will be only a small percentage of the torture Jesus Christ went through before his crucifixion.

Jesus Christ did not carry his cross. He was so beaten that he couldn't. A man named Aremaes or something like that got picked to carry it.

Is Mel Gibson a man of obscurity? No. He's a well known actor. Besides that he his Roman Cathlolic whose doctrines do not come from the Scriptures but rather from tradition and the Pope. In other words I think these are prophecies are from the devil. If you want to believe them that is your right and I respect that.

Mel will work as long as he wants to work in movies.

No one will ever say no to him, he's too big at the box office.

And women love him! lol

I have never observed God tolerate staying in a box--even a box OF HIS OWN CREATION SUCH AS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.

He has the capacity to use anyone. Even satan is used by God for God's purposes.

I find it entirely plausible that Mel Gibson has been transformed in the process of making this movie. I don't doubt that he's had some measure of devotion to God in some probably fragile form fostered even by the sad Roman system.

In any cases, the number of voices asserting that God not only intends but has already moved mightily in this movie is impressive.

Evidently you are unaware of the Washington DC screening with a long list of bigwigs at which all eyes were more than a little teary and at which a number of spontaneous healings occurred.

We shall see. But I, for one, am convinced that

GOD IS

GOING TO USE THIS MOVIE IN A TREMENDOUSLY BIG WAY

FOR HIS KINGDOM AND HIS GLORY.

God is ALSO big enough to be the author and finisher of Mel Gibson's faith as HE IS big enough for all of us who trust in Him to be the author and finisher of our faith as well as of us as growing individuals.

Your parochialism may be no better than that of some Romans.

I believe the obscurity has to do with in terms of spiritual issues and the spiritual arena.

All the Evangelicals who I have heard of who have seen it

say it is extremely and totally faithful to Scripture.

I don't know where you get your info

other than from your biases and parochialism.

Spontaneous healings?? These are documented where? The medical reports of their pre and post screening diagnosis and cures are posted where?? Wahington bigwigs have tears in their eyes and that is supposed to mean something?

Mel is backing off the the end of the picture that implies/says the Jews killed Christ. And they did.

What an incredibly stupid thing to say! One, Mel's not backing off anything. Two, if you were a real Christian, you wouldn't claim that Jews killed Christ.

Nobody, killed Christ. He came to die. He chose to die. It was God's plan that He die.

That being said, we are all responsible for His death. Our sins are responsible for His death. He died for us. He died for our sins.

It is stupid comments like yours that give credence to the critics of the movie. But such comments are stupid, inane, bigoted, and pointless.

I need to introduce you to another poster I have been debating and let you and him debate your bigoted views together. Might be interesting to watch, but he would probably tear you apart.

Maybe you didn't know. This is your chance to make it right, to learn, to grow. Use it.

Sure. Who is Valerie?

I think there's a link or address for Bonnie on the bottom of the doc. If not, let me know and I'll look one up. Or a net search might turn it up.

Help yourself.

What is Valerie's need?

A longer report was posted on at least one of the other PASSION threads.

I must say, your tone and attitude seem to match much more those of the pharisees than of Jesus.

There are tears and there are tears.

I guess one had to be there if one's biases and parochialism were so strong as to deny honorable reports.

Some of those characters are too proud to cry alone, much less in front of their PEERS at a CHRISTIAN movie.

But, keep your skepticism and parochialism--they might keep you from afflicting tender new believers if you abide strictly enough by a probable starchy exclusionism.

Sheesh.
