Ticks are kind of hard to get, you have to lay on a log for a long time, or something. I've never gotten one and neither have my dogs, though we're out in the woods all the time during the summer. My dad got a few though. Pretty funny getting them out (well, he didn't think so).

No... I don't think it's fun getting ticks off. But, I have only had a couple or maybe 3 in my life. The mere quantity of chiggers makes 'em a worse nightmare!

Zulu got one tick in her lifetime, and we had been camping when she must've got it.... Right on her eyelid. I pulled it off with my fingernails and held it up to look at it which is where the story went bad.
I peered at it real close and it had a face. As the eebie jeebies started building up in me it wiggled at me. I exploded in panic and threw it right in the air. In the living room. I couldn't find it. I vacuumed and vacuumed, and bought chemicals and then more chemicals.... I knew that little bugger was still in there watchin' me and gestering with its little legs. It haunted me.
