Does the restriction on under 18 drivers include family members? Clare is starting Drivers Ed in April or May. She can get her permit any time after Monday, cause she'll be 16, but can't get her license until she's 16 1/2, and only after she's been through the Driver's Ed Program. She'll do the same one Paul and David did; it was very good. We're planning for her to do some of the driving when we go to Pittsburgh for David's graduation and to FL this year.

Not sure, but I don't think so. However, since usually when they want rides it's so they can go places with their friends, only being able to drive siblings would be useless. And the cost is too high in any case. That part of it REALLY burns me up since as I understand it, the high school pays for their students to attend, and our town has to pay the high school to send kids to the high school since they don't have one of their own...you'd think they'd be willing to pay for just the driver's ed.

But in any case she has her permit and will be getting her license probably the second week of May, so it's not that much longer. I still think the rules are stoopid.
