2050, yeah. Which is why it confused me...the world isn't different enough for it to be noticeable a lot of the time, but then they've got those video phones and such.

Exactly, other than time travel there don't seem to be many advances. Again, it's more noticably future in "To Say Nothing". One of the few flaws in a brilliant work. If it's a flaw... hard to predict what advances there will be.
The thing that amazes me about Willis is how versatile she is. Doomsday Book is so different from To Say Nothing of the Dog, even though they're in the same "universe". "Passage" is even more different, and weird.
Doomsday's the best but I bet you'll howl with laughter reading To Say Nothing. I did.
