Yeah, the part in the 1300s is pretty dark. It took me awhile to figure out just how far in the future the other part was supposed to be. Threw me for a loop the first time talked on the phone and they described the person on the other end.

It's actually not that far in the future... 2050-ish, I think. "To Say Nothing of the Dog" has actual dates... basically, time travel is developed in 2018, and Kivrin's part of the second generation of time travellers.

Willis' next novel, (the one she's been writing for THREE YEARS and still hasn't finished) involves some of the same time traveling characters (mostly Mr. Dunworthy) and the Blitz.
