Classic SF is also very much an acquired --- and generationally-influenced --- taste. I see Zenna Henderson as a great SF writer; others may prefer Lois McMaster Bujold or Orson Scott Card, even though Bujold and Card see Henderson as their chief influence.
In short, our Jen is an iconoclast.

Actually, I really love classic SF. I just don't think Asimov's the best of the old guys. He usually had interesting stories, I just wasn't fond of the way he chose to tell them.
Heh... at least a quarter the books on my shelves would be considered 'classic' SF... more depending on where the end of classic SF is though I may have more of a liking for 50s and 60s SF than 40s.
