I have a laptop, only it's three years old and not actually a laptop any more. It has to stay in a docking station... basically, it's a portable desktop.

Now I'm going to have a lovely new laptop, 30 gig hard drive, 2.8 gHz Pentium 4 chip, 384 MB ram, 15 inch screen, cd-rw/dvd player....

Mine is an older version of that setup...no 2.8gHz, for sure. Unfortunately it has the fan problem I mentioned...the fan comes on all the time and then anything video related slows wayyyyyyyy dowwwwwwn. I haven't figured out a fix yet. Means I can't really watch DivX stuff 'cause the sound goes out of sync. *snif*
