Yep! I only make miserable those whom I love.

It is a bit odd how attached I get to some of my characters, like they were pets or friends or something. But I don't hesitate to make them miserable. Even if it's painful. "They lived happily ever after" is the end, not the story.

Well, in some of my short stories, evil wins and the good guy dies.

But usually I write a happy ending.
