Smile.... I can't do action scenes right, and I have trouble with romance. Which is why my writing relies too much on dialogue.

Yawning, she goes to bed, wondering what Ramius was up to today.

I'll be back tomorrow afternoon. Unless I go shoot up the school district administrators offices, which is possible. See you then, or at the trial.

Best action writer I could recommend to help with that is Robert E. Howard. Here's a sample from the first paragraph of his story "Nekht Semerkeht":

The snap of a bowstring broke the stillness, and was followed by the shrill scream of a horse death-stricken. The Spanish animal reared, the feathered end of the arrow quivering high behind its foreleg, and went down in a headlong plunge. Its rider sprang free as it fell, to alight on his feet with a dry clang of steel. He staggered, empty hands flung wide, fighting to regain his balance. His matchlock had fallen several feet away and the match had gone out.

Jack London's also good at that.
