I was wondering if you were going to go see it. You have to let us know how it is!

(Oscar needs a Best Ensemble Acting Category. If they'd had one,LOTR would have been 12 for 12-JSiegel)

Hidalgo report: actually better than I expected. I had fun, except for the Orlando Bloom fangirls behind us who apparently came just for the "Troy" preview (ugh! they were dreadful!).
He looked nothing like Aragorn, first off. It was most interesting, to me, for the clash of cultures, and then for the actual adventure. Which I thought was cool, but there's a part of me that loves horse-adventure stories. I haven't read many since I was about 11 - fantasy sort of stole my interest after that - but in some way it reminded me of reading the "Black Stallion" books as a kind.
The horses, to my untrained eye, looked magnificent; interesting contrast of the mustang with the Arabians (what gorgeous horses!). There were a number of amusing scenes - Viggo faces death and fates worse than with less-than-kingly resolve, but does pretty well. Ending is as expected. I enjoyed it, though it wasn't a great movie the way LotR is.
