You were in Fiji?Yeah, when I was in college I spent a summer with a touring music group. Spent about 6 weeks going from coast to coast to coast in the US, then flew to Sydney, Australia for a week, and then to Fiji for a week. Didn't really get to do much sightseeing, as we were doing up to 3 concerts a day, but it was still fun.
I wanna go back to Australia someday, and see the outback. And then go to New Zealand.

We were there in '87; same time they had their bloodless coup; interesting when you think about it, the immigrant Indians won the general election and native Fijians said, hey just a darn minute, it's our country.
We were coming back from a tour of Eastern Australia and New Zealand and the Australian Tourist Commission told us about the coup and offered Hawaii instead of Fiji, several of us said we were not likely to get to Fiji again so we went, not many tourists and outside of a few extra soldiers at the airport, it was a very pleasant time, and Fijians were very glad to see us.

Very cool!
My Dad was in the Navy during WW2, he was on a supply ship in the South Pacific. Fiji and New Zealand were both places he saw; after his ship was sunk by a Japanese sub, he spent the remainder of the war in Australia waiting to be assigned to a new ship. He had a lot of stories to tell about his time there!
