My Dad was in the Navy during WW2, he was on a supply ship in the South Pacific. Fiji and New Zealand were both places he saw; after his ship was sunk by a Japanese sub, he spent the remainder of the war in Australia waiting to be assigned to a new ship. He had a lot of stories to tell about his time there!
