The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I had a guy in my middle school homeroom class like that. He would BATHE in Drakkar.
Nothing like the overpowering smell of men's cologne at 7:30am on a Monday morning to get your stomach churning!

*gag*
I don't even like strong NICE scents. Strong scents that I dislike make me ill.

It's just frustrating, you know? Of course you know, having kids of yer own. It's the saddest thing to just see Autumn lying there, so run-down...nothing like her normal perky self. I wish I could just take the illness from her and give it to myself...at least I can handle it. It just breaks my heart knowing that there's nothing much I can do about it.
Small amount of luck on the job front, but nothing hard yet. I had a 2nd interview at a local TV station, and he asked me to send him my references and salary history, which I did. He said he would have a decision by the end of this week, and I know he's already checked on some of my references (my buddy called me and told me). So, hopefully that's all a good sign, and I'll be back working again.
Which will be a good thing, because these bills aren't going away! Shoot...I think they're reproducing overnight! lol

She was a coupla rows in FRONT of me, so probably wouldn't have noticed.
The worst thing is that it was so strong I felt like maybe people in back of me thought it was me...and was kinda mortified, even though I KNEW it wasn't me.
I'm gonna go take some headache stuff...see if that helps.

The only one that does anything for me is *Beautiful* by Estee Lauder. [sigh] Seriously curls my toes, that one...

Yeah, it's tough watching the little ones all run down and feeling miserable. I'll always complain to Rebecca how she never settles down, but I worry like crazy when she isn't running around breaking something.
Hang in there re: the job. Something's planned for you, but as you know, it's never our timing, but His.

That is one of the worst feelings in the world. Even more so when the odor is ummm..."less than savory".

Some cold New England air ought to do the trick!

Too flowery for my taste. My mom loves the stuff though. I tend to go for the musky, vanilla, sandalwood type of perfumes.
I'm an Obsession gal myself.

That's odd... curves for women often do it for me too... ;-)
To: RMDupree
Ooohh... yeah... forgot about Obsession.
[sigh]
How do you feel about Grey Flannel?
To: Ramius
hehehehe...I'm easy to please when it comes to men's cologne.
Heck, even Old Spice smells good on some fellas! *grin*

lol...I know what you mean. She didn't even get up off the couch when I came home today. No fever, no stuffiness, and no cough, just stomach issues...so I suppose it could be worse, right?
"Something's planned for you, but as you know, it's never our timing, but His."
I know, I know...it's just tough sometimes to remember that. Luckily, many of my vendors and creditors were very understanding, and were more than willing to work with me and cut me some slack...which was very surprising. lol...I prayed that God would soften their hearts...looks like that one worked! :-)

LOL...Jess just told me that "Essence of Dirt, Grit, and Gasoline" work even better for her!
(No wonder she's been on my case about getting a new lawnmower!)

He's buying you the time you need until the right thing opens up.
You know, when I lost my job at Troy Corp, I was devastated. In hindsight though, I realize that God provided me the job at Troy to get me through one of the most difficult parts of my life (divorce, unmarried pregnancy, etc) when I needed a flexible, considerate boss and plenty of "down time".
Now, after being at ADP a while, I realize that the Lord placed me here now because more than anything I need money and the closeness to my sister to get through the financial strains of being a single mom with 2 kids and a non-working mother in the house.

Hey everyone... sorry about that, I posted, then I left the keyboard for 20 minutes.
I started a 5-week contract on Monday, which is great. Unfortunately, I'm working at the base hospital at Ft. Hood, in Killeen, which is a 1 hour drive from where Rose works. And, they want me there 1/2 hour before Rose's shift starts. So, we have to leave the house 1.5 hours early (1/2 hour to drive Rose to work, then an hour further for me). And neither of us are morning people, ugh.
