The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

MMMmmm... it's a luscious plant. Will try to find you a picture of one. I don't think I have any pictures of mine... although I've got photos of most everything else in my herb and flower beds.

Well, I am losing my voice over here. That means it is past my bedtime. I think it is about time I kicked elf-boy outta my bed.

Yah... tough day. Today was the day I had to put together the salary changes and bonuses for this last year. I really hate this.

I don't like being the one to decide how much other people make.

Lemon Verbena. It isn't in the same family as other plants commonly called verbena. Has a lovely color but the spectacular thing about this plant is it's scent. Very lemony but not an overbearing perfumy fragrance. It releases scent anytime you brush against it walking. But, unlike most lemon scented plants these leaves retain the scent even in the dead of winter when they're dry and brown. Makes a great tea... but I like it better just to make regular tea with teabags and add a few leaves of lemon verbena to that. Makes a nice ice tea that way.

Okay, now do you know *way* more than you ever wanted to know about this plant? It is native to Chile, but acclimated well to lots of North America. I think it would thrive where you are because of your being on the beach.

Awww. I'm sorry. But, it's part of that boss-power-trip honey! Need something to make you feel better after all that stress?

Have succeeded in removing the cat, but not elf-boy.

BTW, we have a steady rain coming down. Gonna be hard pressed to not sleep in tomorrow morning if it is still raining like this. Hypnotizing!

I get to sleep late tomorrow! I am so ready for this. Not much sleep the last couple of nights.

But... I don't do power trips. No passport for same.

I'm thinking about going to see The Passion in the next couple of days. I think from what I've heard I should see it alone the first time.

I am thinking of going Friday afternoon. I'm a bit leary of taking myself to see it because I haven't even handled audio presentations I've heard of the suffering of Christ very well. Despite my liking violent movies for entertainment, when it comes to thinking of my Saviour suffering this way - it seems I just almost can't handle it.

I am thinking of going. But, I can't say actually looking forward to it. I think the thing I would most like to have is someone supportive to sit with after it is over. Not to have for company *there* but I don't know that I want to come home alone and deal with it completely afterward.

Okay, now I'm psycho-rambling. But, I've pretty much decided the first showing Friday afternoon is when I will see it. I don't know what kind of shape I'll be in when I get home though.

Well. I just may take you up on that! I am choosing the first show on Friday afternoon because I don't want to walk out of that theater into a cold dark night. LOL

Of course, the thought has also occurred to me that I'm choosing a Friday.... and it all happened on a Friday anyhow.

Sometimes I think too much! LOL

Roger that.

At the very least I want to see it to know what everybody is talking about. On the other hand, if the film gets it as right as I think it might... it could be alot to handle without bawling incessantly afterward.

I figure it is somewhere in the middle of that. But I'll go find out.

It is, after all, just a movie. No movie regardless of how graphic could do justice to the true Passion. That's the one thing that really ticks me off about the reviews I've seen.

All we're asked of this is to sit down and watch for a couple of hours. There were thousands of people that watched in happen in real time. No movie, that, and it wasn't just a couple of hours.

I'll forward my review afterwards...

Well... You can forward your reviews. I don't know if I'll be able to verbalize reviews at first. Just thinking about it puts a knot in my stomach. I am glad I know the truth. But, it is still hard to think of even without seeing it for 2 hours.

I guess I'm kinda a weakling when it comes to stuff like that. I can't for the life of me understand the realities of life back then when people really did watch stuff like that for entertainment. It makes me shudder talking of it. I am not made of strong enough stuff for that.

So, it is with a lot of difficulty that I plan to go see this. But, I'm going. I am not sure if I can handle the thing. But, I'm gonna try.

Are you fixinta leave darlin'? It's getting pretty late here. It is possible that I could use some sleep tonight even though it is Mardi Gras and we should be partying the night away.
