That sounds like a job for someone with a lot more psych degrees than I've got. Yahknow... it never occurred to me before, but it could very well end up that the whole point of my life was all about being somebody's master's thesis.
Well... they say everybody is good at something. :-)

All he's gotta do is roll doubles? All he's gotta do is choose the right music...

I would like to have the wedding early.... like 11:00 (or even 10) Oh God, champagne at 10:30? I'll have to swim home.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
You almost could!

The tide hits the pilings at the top of the ramp, and the dock starts to float, at +5 feet.
Seems to me you'd want about 4 ft lower, about +1 feet or less, to get any dry sand in front of the dock.
I'll check the link you sent.

all about being somebody's master's thesis You're just too dern humble, you gotta be PhD.

You can go years traipsing around the woods up here and never have a burning red dot on your ankle.
Wha... Sounds like heaven on earth!!! How CAN that BE???
What about skeeters? Got them?

Can't you see the headlines: "Tacoma official eaten by Orca while swimming Sound." The sub-header would be: "Rumor of swimming under the influence not denied."

I've still got one Entmoot souvenir on my leg...

In Tacoma, another city official doing something wacky would barely be news...
To: Wneighbor
Only in the summer and only near relatively sedate bodies of fresh water.
We do get ticks out in the woods - but they're very easy to avoid.

I still have several. Beginning to wonder if they will ever go away!

Ticks are easier to repel than chiggers. Sulphur works pretty good by itself. And they don't just cover you in horrible spots!

I may have a scar or two, but then I scar easily. Ugh, wish this last one would stop itching.

Hey ksen..... saw your post about the deposit....
So how much did we get back? I know they took a minimum couple hours cleaning time off and power, but I can't guess how much that is.
To: ecurbh
did I miss anything? Ramius and Wneighbor playing backgammon...well, talking about it, Hair talking about marrying YOU at some unGodly hour of the morning, and me being eaten by a Killer Whale while swimming home drunk from your wedding.
That's about it.

The tides on the 19th look ideal. 10am the dock will be on the beach and some sand in front but it will still be wet.
11 or 11:30 might the time to shoot for. There should be good dry sand, suitable for standing on, out in front of the dock, and probly about thirty feet of it. The tide will still be going out for more than an hour, but the height won't change much while it starts slack and changes directions.
Sounds good.
