The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I imagine "I don't" was one of the nicer things she said to him. I would think the things she said later weren't near as fit for public consumption.

Oops...

"I purchased my first detector in November of '93 and what a rush! The first week of swinging I found three mercury dimes, several wheats, five rings and lots of clad. Can't wait to go back out this weekend and hunt an old site where a turn of the century home once stood. Happy Hunting!"

His happy customer story has nothing on your hunting story!!!

Here's the pic I was looking for :)

Caption:

Top panel: "Sam wakes with a start. 'Hey! What are you going on about? Where've you been, sneaking off and around?'"

Bottom panel: "Poor old, tired Smeagol--he finds a tunnel through the mountains, a secret way and no Orcses anywhere--and Hobbit says sneak.--hmmh, sneak!"

(BTW, is everyone able to see this pic?--I'm linking to something I scanned and uploaded into a YahooGroup, and when I did that the other day I could see it on my browser but others reported they couldn't.)

Get a load of this, would ya??? SOMEBODY laid this really tiny egg! Can you believe it? It's just barely over an inch long, that's a quarter, then a dime next to it.

I think Benny Hen laid it. She took 4 days off from laying and then laid a small egg yesterday...like a store-bought small size...not THIS small!

That is a tiny egg! Would be cute suny side up on a very small pancake.

I can see it fine!

We had trouble with pics showing up on our Hobbit Hole Yahoo Group.... Because it was a private group maybe?

The links also may break after a number of hits in a short period. That is what my webshots used to do. They would work, but not for very long.

Oh that's a good idea! LOL

I'm thinking it won't have a yolk though...I bet you anything it doesn't. I'm not going to crack it open till Steve's around to do it...he gets such a kick out of it and after all, I get the pleasure of fetching them.
