I understand... I'm not sure I would see it on my own, but Rose wants to see it, so we're going.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
If it were not so much, I could manage by hiding my eyes..... but from what I can tell, it is the whole film.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
That might be kinda neat. I've had Passion overload for months now. Just show it, and get it out there for all to see. I'm not terribly excited to see the movie myself.

Went to the beauty shop Saturday, and talked to beautician and a coupla customers about
The Passion. They are both more observant than I ... and they both voiced the same concerns you have.
I'm gonna give it a try. As I said at the beauty shop yesterday, though, I don't know how long I can hang ...

It's just finishing... not sure if they're going to replay it or not.

> Silly! It's from Treebeard's Entwife poem!Doh! I am humbled :) I definitely have some brushing up to do on my Tolkien lore.

I had to hide my eyes for the trailer where they show the hand and the nail, and any time there is whipping. I just can't watch. I really like to be one of the "with-it" people, and there has been/will be so much talk here about it that I wish I would have seen it to be informed about it. But - that is not a good enough reason.
To: HairOfTheDog
I just watched the same special... wow... I don't really want to watch the movie, you know, but... I don't feel it's my religious duty. But I think if I watch it it will add to my appreciation for the sacrifice. My church - my pastor - is really big on emphasizing that the sacrifice was for me personally... for my sins... and sometimes it's hard for me to grasp the, well, the magnitude of it.
Does that make any sense? I don't care about being with-it, or informed. But I think it will be good for me to go.

Well, I will be reading the comments about it...

It's the Cross that gets me ... every time He strains to move it, every time He stumbles beneath it, my insides twist.
And I find myself screaming at these ever-so-smug idiots in the media who betray their utter disdain for religiosity every time they slam Mel Gibson. Make me nutz!

It will certainly be thought-provoking.

Just finished watching the PAX special as well; it's a story we need to see, although looking forward to it? Well, not exactly, but we will.
To: osagebowman
Need to see. There's a good way to put it.

Did you happen to catch the end of the Screen Actor Guild Awards. just a few minutes ago..
..Lord of the Rings won Best Emsemble...
..and Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Gollum guy, Liv Tyler John Rys Davies and a few more were there, but not...
...Viggo, Elijah or Orlando.
But what disappointed me very much, is Sean kinda pushed a guy out of the way who was thanking everyone...
..and started a long winded speech about labor unions....and went on and on..
..and John Rys literally shoved him out of the way, so Billy Boyd and others could say thanks!
It was so disappointing and I wonder why he did this!!!!
They've actually started repeating it now on TNT channel, and what I just described will be replayed around midnight.
Did anyone see this???

Don't think it's a "duty" of mine, per se, to attend this flick. But I am amazed at, and impressed by, the vision and courage it took to make this.
I don't expect to be comfortable watching it; I expect to weep copious tears, 'cause I'm getting choked up at just the trailers. I may have to get up and leave in the middle. But something is telling me to go see this.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Don't know when I'm going to see it, I'll be in Detroit opening night. But see it I shall.

Ugh, Wednesday afternoon. And I don't think I'll have any internet access at all until I get back Friday night. Grr... I am paid by the hour, you better believe they're getting billed for the time I spend in the car.
Do I get hardship pay for driving my boss and the annoying coworker home?
