That's just the kind we're having! Found a mondo-sale on them a few weeks ago... $6.99 for a box of 18, almost half-price.

I have never been that far north. As the story goes, my grandfather and his brothers were all from Coplay, PA. Each one left, one to Tomah, Wisconson, one to Williamsburg, Virginia, and one (my grandfather) to Philadelphia, Mississippi. The brothers never returned to PA (except to attend their mother's funeral). So, my dad's first cousin and their kiddos are all still up there.
Uncle Sylvester met his bride in LaCrosse.

Good price. I'd stock up too!

That reminds me, I wanted to go to the liquor store and get some beer and wine (not for me to drink, for cooking.) Oops. Guess we will have to go another day.

Hey all! Checkin' in...
I'm back from the city by the bay, and just as glad to be away from there as I always am.
Been down climbin' around on my new rocks today. Kinda neat. I'm just lovin' it.

Ah, Bratwurst--we like Bratwurst here in Wisconsin :)You'll find more than a few Texans are hooked on these.
Yeah, we got lotsa those--that's standard around here for tailgating parties :) Then there's also Usinger's:

and Sheboygan:
http://www.bratwurst.net/
Sheboygan is named after the Wisconsin city of Sheboygan, which has this claim to fame:
http://www.factmonster.com/spot/roadtrip1.html
Bratwurst Capital of the World
Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Sheboygan's celebration of America's most mysterious pork sausage is called Bratwurst Days. The two-day festival of music and bratwurst is held annually on the first weekend in August. Connoisseurs come from all over to experience some of the industry's newest brats, such as taco bratwurst, Cajun bratwurst, and jalapeno and cheddar bratwurst. Incidentally, Sheboygan's Memorial Hospital is the "angioplasty capital of the world." Just kidding.
And for the calorie-conscious there's Jenny-O's turkey brats, LOL!

We could be distant relatives, then :) Once you get north of Tomah or so I'm related to about half the people in the state :)

I hated the on LE Modesitt book I tried to read, not necessarily because of the plot (though that was boring, standard fantasy stuff) but because of the writing style. Every character had dialog like this:
"I...err... weel, I don't..."
"You see, it's..."
"There, uh..."
It may be true to life, but it's deadly to read.

My degree will be in Computer Science (supposedly with a side of mathematics but I'm having some trouble with that bit) and I will be continuing in CS at the graduate level. I cannot wait. So many of my college classes have been boring, though I always try to get everything I can out of it. Like, if a professor uses a book to make a point, I'll try to find and read the book.
Doomsday Book is about a historian who travels back through time to the Middle Ages - 1300s - to conduct research on what life was like then. Also there's a subplot set in the future, with her support team dealing with problems there. Unlike a lot of time travel books, it's not really about the travel, it's about the period where she is. The characters are so real, it feels like you've been there.

We could be distant relatives, then :) Could be. My aunt's (maiden) name was Frances Holberg. She passed away in 1984. I don't think I ever met her, though.

I'm going to bed...can hardly keep my eyes open, for some reason, even though I slept in. *yawn*
