Were we as ~het up~ here as the rest of the forum is?

Our civilization has been destroyed by Janet Jackson's boob of all things!

Who'd have thunk it!

Ummmm... the het up part here was that Bear managed to capture it, ecurbh wants a copy and Ramius was supposed to be watching but totally missed it cause he was typing!

:-)

The Hobbit Hole just took it all in stride.

But, after all the excitement (especially the streaker part) I switched it on to watch the 2nd half of the game myself. Was glad I did. Good entertainment - and it was only football!

I wouldn't label Janet's boob a "destructor of civilization," but the wife woulda preferred not to be sittin' there watchin' with Jr. when it popped out.

Tasteless, classless, intentional and uncalled for. Those involved deserve every bit of grief they get.

Bingo.

As I mentioned on one of the "boob threads", I wondered what the NFL and CBS's reasoning was for having MTV run the halftime show in the first place? The NFL crowd and the MTV crowd are hardly in the same circles.

What average football fan really gives a darn who Justin Timberlake is, or what he does?

Well, as much as it still bothers you, I'm glad it wasn't anything more series!

intentional

An apt description. Anyone who thinks otherwise, despite any CBS protestations, is a fool.

Thankfully, we had Independence Day on...it's one of the boy's favorite movies. I didn't even know anything had occured until this morning.

Unfortunately, we have found a few too many things that we'd prefer our children not be sitting with us when they occured on TV. Although I know we won't be able to protect them forever from the ways of this world, our evening entertainment shouldn't be where they learn these lessons.

It's why we listen to Old Time Radio in the evening. Since they don't know otherwise, they don't even think it's weird.

Heh...that's about what my boss said. Only he used a lot more...ummm...colorful language than that. The irony of it kinda amused me.

I miss alot of stuff myself.
*scratches head*
Don't know exactly how it works, I figure there's some sort of spy or spyware that tells when I'm on or not.
And when I'm not on there's a conspiracy to do fun stuff while I'm gone so that I'll go "D'oh!" when I miss stuff.
*chuckle*

Matthew just thought Steve Tyler was hysterical when he was singing "Dream On" at the beginning, though...and I loved it. I explained that he was "Arwen's real dad". He couldn't get over how he would scream while he was singing. Tyler would scream and Matthew would just die laughing...

I wish I'd have watched it.

ecurbh and I were watching an old Cary Grant movie during the super bowl and I was building a castle.

It was a really good pre-game show...glad we caught it. Had a "tableau" of the landing on the moon and Toby Keith (whom I love) and Willie Nelson (whom I like ok) singing, and some dude I guess I should know (but don't) who did a good job singing "You lift me up" and the next shuttle astronauts. Then an attractive young lady sang the national anthem and it was very moving.

I'm glad we caught the pre-game, and ever so glad we missed the half-time.
