Thankfully, we had Independence Day on...it's one of the boy's favorite movies. I didn't even know anything had occured until this morning.
Unfortunately, we have found a few too many things that we'd prefer our children not be sitting with us when they occured on TV. Although I know we won't be able to protect them forever from the ways of this world, our evening entertainment shouldn't be where they learn these lessons.
It's why we listen to Old Time Radio in the evening. Since they don't know otherwise, they don't even think it's weird.
It's getting tougher and tougher these days. Thankfully, Autumn's not all that interested in what's on TV, and we have a decent DVD library of pre-approved movies and shows that she is allowed to watch.
Aside from "Stanley" and "Jo-Jo's Circus" on Playhouse Disney, and "Animal Planet", she really doesn't watch much of anything on standard tv programming.
