The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I am with you. I just don't get into circuses. Though it could be because my entire life resembles one.

You still awake? Mom got some more done on my material. Tomorrow we are going to watch Under the Tuscan Sun and hem my dress.

Elf-boy went to bed as soon as we got off the phone.

As for the autograph... The hat was ~for~ GW. I am convinced he was getting it autographed, not the other way around. (Why would he sign his own hat?)

"We are Family" during the Traditional worship.

Is that the song that says, "We are family, naw naw naw, my sister and me. . .ugh, well, well, we are family, ugh, naw, naw, naw, huh, my sister and me, well, well. ..ect."

I don't get that.

Off to bed. . night all.

I used to enjoy it when we would take Jr. Tonite was just a bit painful. But, if Luke turns out to like it I can endure it once a year.

We were late getting home because Jr's ride home from youth group didn't show. So we got his uncle to pick him up at church (only fair since we paid for uncle's wife and kids to go to the circus for Luke's birthday). But it meant we had to pick him up which was about an hour out of the way.

Then on the way home we needed a couple of things so we stopped at the urban blight Walmart (not the one where the Mrs. works). Took me 20 minute in line just for four items.

I'm thinkin' you'd prolly be havin' to get those photos from the secret service.

Sure wish I could stand that close to Richard Petty... and end up with an autographed hat... but, I'd rather have the one he wears!!!

I think the King's hat would look real good on me!

You know, there is a Walmart neighborhood market down the street from us, and there is a super Walmart down on 75, it's the next closest one to us.

If I buy groceries at the super, I end up spending at least $100. If I go to the neighborhood market, I spend *maybe* $65 on the same stuff. Amazing!

Oh yeah, and if I go to Kroger and get the same groceries, I spend no less than $130, usually more.

Yeah... back in Waco I got no pride. I go to the BubbaMart. :-) Just makes sense. But, both of those are Super-WalMart's.... just one's in the more upscale part of town.

Did you ever figure out what broke your sewing machine? My mother had something happen that sounded a lot like what you went through.

Turns out she had put the needle in backwards, or something like that. Something she has NEVER done before. The bobbin tightened up, then it got difficult to stitch, then the needle broke and jammed the bobbin to hades. She thought she was gonna hafta take it in to get it repaired.

She decided to sleep on it. The next day she looked at it again, and figured out what she had done. She finagled it and somehow got it to work again. She still has no idea what exactly she did to fix it. But it works like a charm now.

Well, mine happened when I changed needles. But, I've tried and tried to make it work again to no avail. And I did try inserting the needle the opposite way...

It was just sewing along great when a needle snapped... and it hasn't worked right since then. I am concerned that something is stuck down in the bobbin mechanism but I've taken the thing apart more than once and found nothing.

I got a new can of sewing machine oil recently and I'm gonna try disassembling and reassembling again when I get this house rederangement done.

Maybe he has a web site, and sells licensed merchandise. :)
