The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Oops... Weather warning just came on. Roads frozen all over the place. Ya know, people in Texas can't drive like this. YIKES!!!

You don't think *I'm* gettin' out there do ya? I'm warm and toasty in here! :-)
News tomorrow should have lots of pictures! Drivers in Texas do interesting things on ice.

Were you planning on driving at this hour, anyway?Bear, I like exciting driving. Going fast. Driving dangerous. But, gettin' out on the roads with the *other* Texans on ice. Nope. That adrenaline rush I don't want.

I'm back... got distracted in a convo with a couple of people. One of them is a guy with the Army and the other is a gal with Microsoft.
The Army guy, turns out, works on a lot of stuff in systems development like what my company has been doing with the 82nd AB. Business cards were exchanged.

Drivers in Texas do interesting things on ice.I did an interesting thing while driving on ice, once. Rather, I should say, the car did an interesting thing...
Our nasty weather isn't supposed to arrive until 2 or 3 in the morning...

That's a very cool contact! Good deal! Did ya'll talk much about what your company is doing and what he is doing?
Do you need a back scratchin' to relieve you Valentines woes? :-)

believe it or not, there's more Marines in the postal occupations in the brig than anyone else... those guys are always gettin' burned... fargin' bastiges...I wouldn't have them serve a day in the brig. A small tattoo on the arm, "mail thief", and then transfer them to an infantry unit. Problem solved, and nobody else steals mail any more.

They're saying that about ours too. But, since we don't build roads here to accomodate icy conditions there are several places in the area that the news is warning people about already. By the time the bad stuff gets here - no telling what it'll be like.
Of course, I am *still* skeptical that anything will really show up. They're promising too much. Nothing will happen.
You never did tell us feedback from Rose's interviews... or else I missed it.

Showed some pics of the robots and landwarrior and the Scorpion headgear. He knew what it was... it was fun.
A little scratch would be nice, thanks... :-)
