The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Soon as I clicked on that address 2J I got a virus warning. I shut down and scanned. I don't think I wanna go there again!

I have several quilt tops in various stages of completion. One is complete and needs to be quilted. Friend of mine knows a lady that will supply the batting and do the quilting for $35. I just sent a top to that lady a few weeks ago to see what kind of work she does. If this comes out nice, I may be more motivated to work on quilts again!

Dunno... but I disinfected and it found one file. I still can't see whatever Corin posted but I don't think I wanna try that again! I'd rather just not go through that again!

I think I'm actually starting to like it, believe it or not. I framed off the kitchen today with 2x4's. My buddy gave me the basic schematic, and I did it with no problems.
If it were more lucritive, I could do it for a living. No phone calls, no reports, no corporate-speak, no suit, gettin' to pee in the woods, usin' power tools...lol
Doesn't get a whole lot better n' that!

I know exactly what you mean! I didn't work for 6 months between jobs before coming here. I had a friend who *really* wanted someone to clean her house once a week! So I did that for extra cash. I loved it!!! For all those reasons you listed. Incredible. I considered just finding 2 or 3 other people that wanted cleaning and doing that instead of real work!

Jess just signed up with another teleservicing company, which will allow her another work-at-home opportunity, in addition to the one she's already working.
If I were to sign on for it as well, I could keep the "grunt" job, and do the teleservice job at night, and actually make a little bit more than I did in the "real world". This house is already wired with two phone lines, all I'd need is a router and a laptop, and shoot...Jess and I could both work at the same time.
Of course...there'd be no health-benefits, so that's a bummer. But...if I could get around that...heck, that'd be awesome to never wear a suit again. It's certainly tempting, I'll say.

Oh, WN, this furniture was my mother's! It's at least forty-two years old, and it needs a new look, for real!
