The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Sounds like a nice interesting guy! I know I'd get along with him! Nascar, country music, confederate flags. :-) Fits me to a T! :-)
So, whatdayathink of those items Ramius? Can you deal with 'em at all?

Yahsure you betcha...
I'll admit to not being a huge Nascar fan, but I could be if I had to, I suppose. I don't dislike it, I just don't know it. I just haven't watched a lot of racing of any kind.
To: Ramius
Not too surprising on Clark I think. Not too many out there taking him seriesly. Thinkin' that's a good sign.

By way of explanation: The last race driver that I ever followed with any enthusiasm was Jackie Stewart. [dating self].

The disgusting thing is that Washington might actually get a record vote for Kucinich.
Sheesh, what an embarrassment this state is. It's like Berkeley, only wet.
To: Ramius
I think to truly be a Nascar fan maybe you have to *go* to a race. Hear the noise. Smell the fuel. It's a drug I think. Didja see that photo OT posted this morning of Bobby Labonte's new car? He's one of my guys.
Far as the confederate flag.... I don't have one. But, it's definitely a part of the history of Texas... the bad parts and the good parts so when I see it I accept it for the good parts of my history it represents.
Now, the Lone Star flag..... that's a whole other story. I'm sitting here freeping all tucked into my bed with a Texas flag hanging proudly on the wall before me! Just can't do without that one! Somehow I expect you aren't surprised. :-)

Texas: It's like a whole 'nother country. Just ask 'em. :-)

Jackie Stewart was a good driver! I favor the Uncers in formula and Indy car racing. My first Nascar fanship was directed toward Cale Yarborough and The King, Richard Petty. Still kinda partial to Kyle Petty - if he'd ever win a freakin' race!
My ex-husband and 2 of his brothers race over in Eastern Washington. It's already been mentioned to me that if I can stay long enough for Hair and Ecurbh's wedding they hope I get to make it over for a race! :-) It's tentative in my schedule right now! Last time I was up there they were all 3 racing in the same race down in Umatilla. Funny thing was it was 4th of July weekend and not many racers showed up.... in their class it turned out to be the 3 of them and one other guy only. The ex won. With them though, its kinda 6 of one, half dozen of the other cause they all work together building their cars.

There's an American flag on my wall in here too.
But, the Lone Star is bigger.
*blush*
There's also a cowboy hat.... or 2.

Got a few more pictures from Steve the other day The group pic is 16 out of the 22 of us. Some of the others were tasked out on guard and such. The armor you see was fabricated by a maintnence company out of Mississippi...Those Mississippi boys can make just about anything with nothing at all. Crystal is sending me a digital camera, so when it arrives, I should be able to get some more pics for you all. Take care all...God Bless

I was wondering what kind of job your son in law does for the military?

Morning...it snowed last night. Not a LOT, but I'm glad I picked up a new scraper. Old one doesn't work that well for the van...not enough reach.
Finished my omelet (mushrooms, peppers, onions, and horseradish cheddar), so I'm gonna head to work. See ya there!
