The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

if I wanted to hide something metallic, I would dig a deep hole, bury it, partially fill with dirt, then plop a barrel on top You are a twisted mind, Miss Rose..... You guys are gonna make me dig that thing up and call in the forensics people ain't ya? ;~D

Yes!

Well... if it were *guns* then any decent militiaman would know that you bury them *deep* and *vertical* in PVC tubes. Makes them harder to find with metal detectors...

Cold here this morning...about 35 or so...supposed to be 67 and sunny today. Looking forward to that. I sent some pics to 300winmag to post. I havent heard from him, so hopefully he got them. We still couldnt get the whole group together at once, but we got most of us in there.

Am working on a painting that really has me excited, hoping it will come out good. A landscape.
It is dominated by a huge, menacing, out of control thunderhead, with clouds twisting into unnatural shapes, but still retaining the classical anvil configuration. Underneath in the distance, but dwarfed by the storm, is a tiny city with tall buildings, a shining golden city on a hill. I have Manhattan in mind, surrounded by swamps, and getting hit by rain in places. A train going into a tunnel, heading in.
Meanwhile, in front of the city are great forests, seriously on fire in places, with lots of smoke going right up into the thunderhead. Fighter jets streaking overhead, though I believe I'll make those rather abstract.
I think it's going to come out good, give me a few weeks to finish her.
