The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Evenin' just got caught up.

Went to the gym after work. Then came home and had some dinner some fine folks at the wife's Bible study sent us.

And I got another royalty check. Sold nine more books. Woo Hoo! (wonder how many I've sold altogether?)

Them folks just ain't right, Rosie.

There's a full Starbuck's coffee bar on the first floor of my building, and three others scattered across the other seven Lazy E buildings. I, though I dislike coffee, have recently developed a taste for Tazo Chai tea. The geeks, freaks, and security leaks I work with are addicted to Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew (both flavors).

What in the world do your colleagues drink, anyway?

Believe it or not, it's a country song!

WN < --- fails to see why it would be unbelievable that would be a country song.

Yes, but you're a fan of country music... others who are not, might be surprised at the lyrics.

That was my thinking when I posted that, anyway.

hmmmm...I got an old hot water heater...reckon I could sell it on eBay

This actually prompted my friend Tommy to write a little column about this in honor of my birthday a few years ago. It was kinda cool havin' an article written for my birthday! :-)

uh... huh.

Well, you know what they say... it's better to have runnin' socks in time of no money than it is to have money in times of no runnin' socks.

Or something like that.

My favorite saying of that type is, "It's better to be rich and healthy, than poor and sick."

Always liked 'em. But, back when I first started dating Dennis and we both worked for the local country station in Waco, a Bellamy song was the first song he ever played on the radio for me with a kinda cool intro. I Could Be Persuaded.

I was just thinkin' that us plain ol' country folks know a lot more about growin' stuff than city folks do. :-)
