The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I don't know anything about making meth. I've never been to a class for it or anything. I just hear stuff on the news. :-)
Hmmmm.... you know.... not everyone who dabbles in this is brilliant enough to figure out those secrets of clandestine activity that you just pointed out. Some rocket scientist 2 blocks from my house was cookin' during the first year I lived here. I smelled it when I'd go walkin'.
Didn't do nuthin' though.... but, within 2 months they were busted. They were back home awaiting trial within 2 weeks. Guy and his wife with 2 little kids. Kids removed by social services. Right after they got home again - I was out walkin' and smelled it again. Just rolled my eyes. Sure enough. ... within a few weeks they were raided again.
People like that.... they just don't get the logic of doin' it smart.

They found a meth lab just last week, out near my school... apparently that's pretty big around here. I thought it was just pills, but apparently meth and heroin are bad here. Meth (a.k.a. "Crystal") isn't going to be pills. It's a crystalline white substance that is often snorted like coke, but sometimes smoked like crack and sometimes heated and injected like heroin.
Heroin is gonna be a brown pasty looking stuff usually in small foil wrapped amount. Looks like beef bullion cubes.
Never tried the stuff myself. Neither one.

I'm not sure how many years. But, not that long. They guy's at least 10 years younger than me. I'm thinkin' more like 10 or 12 years OTJ.
I finished grading his exam. I have been fortunate to work with some awesome electrical engineers over the years. This guy oughtta be ashamed of himself.

They'd spot you from the air. That's pretty much gotta be done indoors anymore.

But they use cold medicine to make meth from IIRC...pseudoepinephrine.
But then, I'm an ag chem geek.
To: msdrby
minimum standards.... I think he is only doing what he can to get by cuz he is either too lazy, or thinks he already knows it.I think you could be right.... which makes me grading his stuff pretty much a waste of time on my part!

Or Kimchee! - They bury that in the ground till it rots! That's it! That's what it was!!! And it rotted all the way to the dirt in the bottom of the barrel! Whew. Now we know.

Exploring alternate income opportunities?
We're just gonna *have* to come visit you! ;)

But they use cold medicine to make meth from IIRC...pseudoepinephrine. I think you're right about that, or at least pretty close. But the ingredients would be ground up and mixed and cooked...
To: Ramius
...and they blow themselves up....kewl....
To: Overtaxed
It's done that way a lot now cause it's harder to get some of the other raw chemicals. But, yeilds small batches. Makes for a less pure product. More expensive, less income.
