and one was on fire as we drug it through the front gate.In another time and place this would be funny.
I had the expirience of blowing the engine in a fuel truck at highway speed one time. The Air Force decided to junk the truck rather than buy a $20,000 engine for it.

That sounds like a wonderful lunch. Mmmm...
I'll have to get some fish one of these days!
I need to figure out what to make for dinner! I'm thinking black beans and rice, maybe.

Fish called "Talipia" or something like that. Had a light flavor, cooked in 10 minutes.

Tilapia, looks like? I did a Google search. Also found this, which is interesting!
Folklore: Although an exciting new fish to American fish markets, Tilapia traces its origins to the Nile River and has been farm raised around the world for decades. Legend says that Tilapia was the fish Christ multiplied a thousand-fold to feed the masses.

It is 75 degrees here! I'm baking cookies for my soldier friend in Georgia. You are so good! I would like to bake cookies for the guy - but I just HATE baking them!

This is the guy that I sent the pennywhistle and celtic music to when he was in Iraq. He came home for a while, but now he's doing some kind of special training in Georgia. Since it's "in country", I'm actually baking the cookies. Care packages going overseas get items that might have preservatives in them.

You hate baking cookies. That's funny, I do that when I'm depressed just to feel better. I don't eat the cookies. it just makes me happy to bake them.

Baking bread cheers me up.
Unfortunately I already have a loaf and a half at home!

Matthew made a 96% on his major math test earlier today! He's flying through math, lately...
Doesn't get up on the fridge, but it's still pretty good! He just missed one!

I enjoyed your post at 12,693.
And I echo your sentiments about (in my case, being rebirthed in) being proud to be / say I am an American.

I've been told that the guys overseas still love to get the homebaked items even if they are old. Right now though it's taking less time for packages to get over there than it was. I would bake and send.... if I didn't detest it so much!
Wish I could get bread there... I like baking it. But, there's no way on that. Would mold.

Yeah...I think the last batch of items I sent to Celeste's BIL in Afghanistan took 10 day...
I'm sending him another, I should be able to get it in the mail in the morning. Duchess pecan pies and oatmeal creme pies...pair of 300winmag's snips and some hand sanitizer wrapped in a baggie.
The guy in Georgia is also getting the snips and Hobbit Hole knife, thus making this a "Hobbit Hole" designated package.

Baking bread cheers me up. Gonna bake some lambas soon?

Hey Rosie, sorry to hear about the financial stuff - I owe, too, ugh - and the guitar especially.
Hope you enjoy the audiobook. The first two Harry Potter novels are so-so; I enjoy them personally. The third, though, rocks. It's got some really cool bits, so don't give up if the first is less than thrilling. I will say that the most recent had me in tears for hours, the first time I read it.
Are we upping the workout tonight?

LOL A kindred spirit! Guess so! I guess maybe I should start bringing bread in to work...or offering to bake for the folks back home in exchange for ingredients!

Gonna bake some lambas soon? Lembas is NOT nilla cookies. Just wanted to get that in.
Actually did make a few attempts at lembas like food. I want to try a few more things in the future.
I think I'm going to attempt pita bread tonight. Haven't ever tried that and I'm wondering if it'll work...
