I'm surprised that it won't run till Easter there. Easter weekend (with Good Friday) is going to be huge for the movie. If it's as good as people say I might have to buy the DVD. The only DVD's I own are the EE's of FOTR and Two Towers, and I'll get the ROTK EE when it's released. So that will be pretty exclusive company!

Nothing runs for long here...we only have three screens, and one room only holds maybe 50 people. They tend to move things through very quickly so they can show new movies. ROTK ran until the third week of January, which was probably a record, or very close.

It's a shame...since as you say it would be very nice to have it available during Holy Week.

It's... something. I'm not sure I could take it again. It's really something.

I would like to see it, but elf-boy can't go (I won't let him), and it has been so hyped that I don't think PE will want to see it till it comes out on DVD. I might get to see it with my mother. Hehe, as if we could ever plan something definitively! With her, there is always a change of plans.

He will be vey glad that we aren't having the baby in July or August! I can only imagine those electricity bills...

We have these Wolf spiders all over. They're harmless, and actually very benficial. Dead, they dry up to about 1/4" across. This is what elf-boy freaked over.

I don't remember if he saw one of these Yellow Garden spiders last year. We have a few of them about. They're also a harmless beneficial spider. About 4 inches across when the legs are spread.

It's funny how some people just thrive on really busy, chaotic lives. I kind of have one now, but my wife and I both rebel against it (we'll be GREAT retirees!). I'd rather live a bit lower-key...but that will take a different job and I'm not going to start looking in earnest again for more than a year. Next time though...by gum I'm going to find a low-key job where I'm not always having to change my plans!

When I was in Texas (late 80's) for six months, I visited a fellow who had one of those Yellow Garden Spiders as a pet -- it lived in a corner of the eaves by the garage. It was huge, but spectacular in coloring (the yellow). He lived near Travis Lake.

I know of two around the house. One has staked out an area in the planting beds in front of the house. The other one likes a corner of the garden in back. The webs are about 2~3 feet across. Spiders are cool and creepy at the same time.

Cool and creepy is right, but apparently they're good for keeping other bugs down. They MUST eat plenty.

I'm off to the movie all...report back tonight sometime.

The garden spiders are quite impressive. We had one, maybe two of them last year in the garden (duh - *garden* spider), and at least one more in plants/shrubs in the front yard.

I think elf-boy did get a close up on one, but was safely behind the picket fence. I remember spraying s little water on its web, and watching to see if it would move. They do get pretty big when well fed!

Hehehe...'course you could always let Elfboy watch ROTK so later on you can threaten him with Shelob when you want him to eat his spinach or something.

Y'know, the Rankin-Bass cartoon doesn't have Shelob... of course, it's really bad, but, no spiders.

Yeah, but then he'd be singing those songs allll the time.

Did my run. It was really hard. I got too hot and just barely pushed myself to finish. I think maybe I didn't drink enough water earlier today...it's a lot easier to keep drinking when you're at a desk with a glass of water at all times.

But I did it.

And though I'm still not to where I thought I was to begin with, I'm down some weight since my panic attack two weeks ago. ;-) Not a lot, but some. Progress.

Mmmmm...spinach...

Never had the canned version, though. Don't intend to try it. Canned peas put me off canned vegetables for life, I think!
