The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

hehehe... please no...

Metaframe is for control freaks. It's a basically liberal way to run a network. Gotta have micro-control all the time. That's what they're about.

I don't think most of these kids have actually ever been taught to think through consequences of political stances. Just asking thought-provoking questions seems to completely baffle them.

note to self - must keep doing that.

Baffling is good. Especially for freshmen.

Now that I think about it, it's a good thing for sophomores, juniors and seniors too.

Too bad it is so easy... :-)

I'm teaching a basic level class right now in AutoCAD customization. That was my class for tonight. I always have fun with this one. Tonight I was showin' 'em how to do script files. About once a week during this class I hit 'em with one of the "How to torture your co-workers" customizations. :-)

Tonight it was changing all the graphics to black on a black screen so they're still there but nobody can see 'em. hehehe...

Of course, that's just for fun. Nobody ever did that.

Gee, you say that like nobody ever asks you baffling questions anymore!

Leno is on. He's talking about women who run out and buy knock-offs of the fashions from the Academy Awards. He says it's easier for men. If ya'll wanna look like Peter Jackson you just have to eat 3 pizzas and not comb your hair. :-)

I get baffling questions all the time... the trick is to simply never admit what you don't know, and delegate the problem to somebody else who does know. It's easy, once you get the hang of it. :-)

I'm blonde now. I'm allowed to not know stuff. I just say, "I don't know." And smile real big. :-)

hehehe... what is it with PJ anyway? Does the man just not own a hairbrush?

He also makes enough money now that he could afford to have shirts made that are big enough in the neck to button so that a tie doesn't look ridiculous.

[sigh]

oh, and it never seems to hurt if I'm wearing a short skirt when I smile and say I don't know. It helps it not to matter. :-)

When guys are asking at least.

Honey, have you become the men's fashion patrol now? :-)

We are at least, predictable. :-)

We're a pretty easily managed bunch, really.

I don't think you need to be on the fashion patrol to be able to see that PJ just looks funny in a suit. :-)

I don't know that I would agree with that. But, I do notice that short skirts actually do seem to open a lot of doors in a male dominated workplace. Too bad half the time they never notice that I've got the smarts to do the job anyway.

I thought he looked *mostly* uncomfortable in the suit. Funny too I guess, but I felt compassion for him cause he looked so uncomfortable.

Yeah yeah yeah.... it's not like I hadn't already figured that one out! :-)

And I have always been pretty good at gettin' the jobs I wanted. *grin*

You can get most any art supplies here:

http://utrechtart.com/

In case you didn't have a good local store.
Utrecht has good prices, lots of stuff. I'm lucky enough to have a real Utrecht store, here in Miami, that I can go to.

Cool that there are several of us in the Hole that like art.
