The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Ohhhh!!! I forgot!
I cracked it open Sat. It upset Steve something fierce (you know he has a tendancy to faint), so I didn't show it to him...but it was almost solid whites...just three little flecks of yellow in the whites.
We tossed it down the sink.

Yep, I especially loved it when PJ told BC that he could come work in New Zealand any time! (Steve and I tuned in right at the end, saw them win the biggie).
Anyway, I liked that jab PJ gave Hollyweird.

The jokes were funny.
Billy Crystal said one time "Well, everyone in New Zealand has now been thanked"
And when the folks accepted best foreign film the said "We are thankful that LoTR was not eligible for this award!"

There have been a couple films that went 9-for-9, but I don't remember which ones. Beh Hur and ewwwww! Titanic.

Well what did you expect?Hollyweird to screw the pooch.

Mom said it was pretty tame.
Still, even just panning across the audience would've made me sick...remember, I never even watched a movie before FOTR came out! Something like 14 years between my movies!
I pretty consistently don't like ANYONE in Hollywood. Mel Gibson has been the only exception...who couldn't love Max and Riggs?

Morning!!
A big WOOOOO-HOOOOOO for RoTK finally getting the recognition it deserves last night!! I didn't watch the Oscars, but I followed the thread a bit last night. Sorry I didn't post, but I wasn't able to stick around long enough for conversation. :-)
I saw Clay Aiken on Saturday night (wonderful!) and I saw The Passion yesterday (life changing!). And strangely enough, I talked to one of my dearest friends from Ohio for almost 3 hours last night after not communicating with him for over a year. Needless to say, this has been one of the most wonderful weekends ever. I feel drained today, as if I had partied really hard all weekend - but I didn't. Strange!
I've got a bunch of stuff to catch up on now, but I'll try to sneak back in here later!

No, it tied Ben-Hur and Titanic for most wins. I was talking about films that won in every category in which they were nominated. Ben-Hur went 11-for-12 (lost on screenplay) and Titanic was 11-for-14 (lost on actress, supporting actress, and makeup).

Well, I like good entertainers, and there were many there last night.

BTW, just checked the Cinerama website and ROTK is still playing, even though the fine print says it only runs through February 28.
The Reel Film Festival begins on March 4, so I'm guessing it will be running through March 3 (Wednesday). You still have a chance to come up to see it, if you want to come this week. Just thought I'd let you know....

Me-n-ecurbh are talkin about it!
I am jumping up and down at all the FReepers with absolutely no sense of humor. People really do fit events into their pre-concieved agenda. Those who wanted to be offended had to look real hard to find it.

Wonder where Destructor is? Hadn't seen him in a while!
