I don't know that super mystery is warranted.
Neither is ignoring his absence, IMHO.
It could be he has little to no awareness of our concern.
It could be that the SUV's were experts who convinced him he had more urgent things to do than get back on FR.
It could be long lost loved ones arrived and they are all planning a new hotspring.
It could be a lot of things. I don't feel he's in great trouble--more that he's preoccupied.
We shall see at some point.
But ascribing to him all manner of negative motives just seems off the wall, to me.

I wasn't viewing his post in a particularly negative light. I saw it as maybe a joke that got out of hand or maybe even a real problem that he was not taking as seriously as the respondents.

Living here in Humboldt County I can tell you that when a group of strange SUvs head up the back roads they have a search warrant and they are going to whack a few hundred pot plants...
