I was pulled in by the thread last night, too. I suspect that the guy was just as bored by the Democrat primary talk, as I was. He had a good schtick going, but I suspect that he was unable to sustain it for very long. He'll back, probably under another screen name.

Hey, Little Joe, a hot spring resort! If you build it, they will come.
With apologies to James Earle Jones:
"People will come, Little Joey. They'll come to Northern California for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway, not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door, innocent as children, longing for the past."

A few more have drifted onto the old thread. I wonder if I should ping them since they'll never find this in CHAT...
Since when is a missing FReeper just "chat"????

I say ping them! You captured the most intruiging (sp?) post of the thread where the menacing SUVs start heading down his driveway.....

Ping them.

I just finished reading a terrific new book on the best seller list called "Pompeii". The book starts out this same way..... local aquarian (in charge of the city's aquaducts, water supply) discovers the water is getting a bit warmer and tasting funny, then he goes missing.
Hmmmmmm, wonder if Little Joe has read "Pompeii"?

In this book 'Pompeii', what happens to the guy when he goes missing?

Thanks for the ping! I started following this yesterday when Little Joe was still amongst us. I thought for sure that when I checked in this morning that he would have posted some new information about all of this.
Hmmm.. maybe he was advised to evacuate and has no access to computer?? Praying that he and family are all safe and sound!

I don't know that super mystery is warranted.
Neither is ignoring his absence, IMHO.
It could be he has little to no awareness of our concern.
It could be that the SUV's were experts who convinced him he had more urgent things to do than get back on FR.
It could be long lost loved ones arrived and they are all planning a new hotspring.
It could be a lot of things. I don't feel he's in great trouble--more that he's preoccupied.
We shall see at some point.
But ascribing to him all manner of negative motives just seems off the wall, to me.

I wasn't viewing his post in a particularly negative light. I saw it as maybe a joke that got out of hand or maybe even a real problem that he was not taking as seriously as the respondents.

Living here in Humboldt County I can tell you that when a group of strange SUvs head up the back roads they have a search warrant and they are going to whack a few hundred pot plants...

ST, can you ping Ahhnuld, we need him to go rescue Little Joe. I've seen him do it before, and it is one of his subjects we're talking about.
