Oh, that's too bad. I wish for you a white Christmas.
We just had a pretty good rolling earthquake here. Listening to the news to see if I can find out where the epicenter was. I just heard it was centered in Santa Barbara and that some power is out.

We are okay here, but my brother lives in Santa Barbara, just south of the epicenter. Power is out over there, so we don't know yet if there was any damage.

Lets hope the damage was not severe and that your brother gets power back soon.

Thanks Lori. Did you feel the earthquake? It had a 6.5 magnitude.

Oh shoot. You beat me to a "hello". I was going to post a song to you, but I was running out of time. I hope you're having a good day.

Yes, it was a pretty good rolling quake here. Not bad enough to knock anything off shelves or anything, but strong enough to get my attention, for sure!
I have lots of relatives on the coast, just south of the epicenter, so I am following the news closely.

Glad to hear you're OK. Hope Amy and Jim are fine as well. I think it was more shaking than baking, hehehe.

Hadn't heard that report, but I have Fox news on in one room and CNN on in another. It's funny how different and conflicting the reports are. As is always the case, the first reports in cases like this are all over the place.

Winter solstice for 2003 occured at 11:04 pm PST on December 21. However, the Earth is actually nearer the sun in January than it is in June -- by three million miles. What causes the seasons is the earth's tilt: our hemisphere is leaning farthest away from the sun and, therefore, causing all variety of climate, drama and poetry:
The Shortest Day by Susan Cooper
So the shortest day came, and the year died,
And everywhere down the centuries of the snow-white world
Came people singing, dancing,
To drive the dark away.
They lighted candles in the winter trees;
They hung their homes with evergreen;
They burned beseeching fires all night long
To keep the year alive,
And when the new year's sunshine blazed awake
They shouted, reveling.
Through all the frosty ages you can hear them
Echoing behind us - Listen!!
All the long echoes sing the same delight,
This shortest day,
As promise wakens in the sleeping land:
They carol, fest, give thanks,
And dearly love their friends,
And hope for peace.
And so do we, here, now,
This year and every year.
Welcome Yule!!
But remember, earthquakes and in-laws can be counted on to lengthen short days!

Sorry I missed you. I was out shopping for something appropriate for my wife (the car on the left). Life is exciting.

Yes, but with a mackeral tabby with white coloration.
Tabby stripes being brown and black.
But that is pretty close!

You stay warm and safe too, OESY
This has nothing to do with your comments, but I think it is funny....
