Carry and Ammunition Suggestions for Condition Orange (Freeper Suggestions-Vanity)

Well folks, it's that time of year again. Tom Ridge and the people at DHS have received the analysis of the chatter gathered by NRO, DIA, and other assorted alphabet agencies and it appears that the Rags have decided to do the whole Grinch thing.
Naturally, Americans can be an awfully accomodating bunch, in that 72 virgins kind of way, so I was wondering that given that the threat board just went to orange, what are the Best Practices for carry, ammunition, and accessories during this period. In other words, are you stuck with your 9mm when you're going about your Christmas shopping, or should one carry the 12 guage in the gun rack.
I'm serious, folks. I'm not being facetious. It only sounds that way. I have been expecting terrorists to make guerilla style attacks and acts of sabotage in the U.S. for two years now as an expression of Islamic "manhood". Unfortunately for them, there's something called the Second Amendment. So this thread is for practical suggestions for carry and concealment, choice of firearms and ammunition in a low intensity warfare environment, and of course, best practices for small unit tactics in case you run into the Madrass Jihad for Allah (as opposed to, say, the Campus Crusade for Christ).
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Here in Kalifornia I guess we'll have to carry a target that we can hold off to the side to hopefully pull their aim off.

My husband just got a Beretta Neo for his birthday, but hasn't had a chance to try it out. I guess it's about time.

Well, I'm sort of stuck with the 12 guage. I'm sending the wife and child to California to visit the relatives, so there goes my Model 1911 until next year (I have my heart set on the Kimber Custom series black).
Damn, I didn't know a goat could be so deadly.
Nice to see Willie Green in top form, as usual, btw. Maybe we can turn this into a mass transit thread so he can feel at home.

...and a little extra...plus standard emergency gear...flashlight, knives, water, first aid, gas mask if you have one...good to have a cut-and-run survival kit these days...protein bars, pepper spray...
I have settled on the 9mm, .38/.357, .44 Magnum, and 12ga.3"...and for rifles...anything of average, widely used cartridge. If the mud does fly, you'll want to resupply if you run out...bad time for a .30 Luger, .219 Donaldson Wasp, and a 28 ga. !

I have my heart set on the Kimber Custom series Before you do, you may want to check out the new offerings from Colt. This is not the Colt of a few years ago; they've really turned things around over there.

Just put a form Wrongful Death complaint in your safe deposit box, and be a Baysian. Baysians just carry on, except perhaps when it comes to small private planes flown by non instrument certified pilots, or hang gliding, or visiting Gaza with an American flag pinned to their back, and then they just say no.

For Christmas, a little early, I just got a brand new S&W .357 magnum airlite with the smallest frame.
Only have fired it 5 times, but it is a cannon.
Fits in any pocket and is super ultra-lite.
Got the suggestion on another thread:

Here is a suggestion. Your chances of being involved in some kind of 9/11 incident is about 1 in 99 zillion. Take your gun, or guns, to a range and practice till your shoulder gets sore, or your hand trembles. If for some reason you are the one in 300 million citizens who gets to be a hero, I suggest that you immediately purchase a powerball lottery ticket, and stay the hell out of thunder storms.

Launch some 12ga. Buckshot at LONG range some time...you may be amazed.
Also, a Poly-Choke does some wonderful things for "reach" in any gauge and load...I once dropped a large Pheasant at 100 yards with a 20 ga. set on Extra Full. You will love owning one...until you blow it off with a slug, forgetting to open up the setting.

Carry what you have.
Also, carry a real sharp knife, it has many uses.
