We all gotta be rockin' in the aisles. They played "We are Family" this last Sunday and I nearly barfed.You're kidding. You've got to be. Good lord in heaven, who thought that was appropriate?
Oh, dear, it's my stodgy Presbyterian complex again... last Presby church we went to did some clapping, swaying in the aisles, praise band sort of stuff. That's fine, I just don't really like it. But we never sang anything that... far out there.

I'm fondly remembering the Greater Lincoln Park Pentacostal Temple that I attended when I was still living in San Antonio. Multiracial, unicultural --- united under God. And, oh my, but does the Spirit move there!
<grin> But it's not a very quiet place, oh, my, no! The choir sometimes makes the building shake, just a bit, enough for you to feel it in your feet. And as the Spirit starts to infuse the congregation, the people start to jump, and move, and dance in the aisles ...!
But restrained it isn't.
The lesbians have co-opted "We Are Family?" Too bad! But, you know, the first group to use the song as a theme were the Pittsburg Pirates, during their World Series run in 1979.
If you get the lesbian thing out of your mind, it's a really cool song.
