I was thinking about doing Netflix as well, but no one I work with could vouch for the service.

Tell me more...

I'll let you know how it works out... I just signed up for it yesterday. SuziQ uses it though, and I think Corin does too.

I use walmart DVD club. $15 a month and I can have 2 DVDs out at any time. We watch them and return them as fast as we can. It's worked real well for us.

Netflix is a great service, Seamus! We've been members since Oct. 2000, and have not had any problems at all. The best part for you and me is that Worcester is a distribution center so when you mail the movies back, the wait time is not as long. We'll mail it, they receive it the following day, and usually ship us the new one that same day! We must have over 100 movies in our queue right now!

ecurbh is right; the best part is not having to go out and see if the video store has the movie, then worry about whether or not you remember to get it back on time. With Netflix, you just don't get a movie to replace that one until you send it back. With their basic service, you can have 3 movies out at any one time. There are LOTS of movies for kids, so you can always order some for Autumn when you order yours.

For Christmas this year, SSQ bought the parts to make a MONDO subwoofer for our TV room in the basement. We watched FoTR to 'christen it'. The WALLS were vibrating during the "Sauron buys it" scene, and we got that distinctive rolling low sound we heard in the theater!! IT WAS AWESOME! We do a lot of movie watching as a family, so it's great having some nice equipment.
