The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Or even a baby monitor...she could just talk and it would go to the person with the hand-held receiver.

Ramius.... if they don't, could we plug speakers into your laptop?

I can bring my adapter cable collection for playing things through a laptop....not bringing speakers, though.

He does believe in Santa though, which I find rather hysterical, because we don't put a lot of emphasis on it. Some time in the days before Christmas, he was lying in bed with me watching the news and it showed (I think) the secretary of transportation giving Santa permission to fly through our air space. I turned to Matthew and said "See, we're under such tight security that even Santa has to have clearance to fly over."

Ummmmm... Santa was another thing I had Myranda convinced of till very very late in her child-life. I went to great lengths to show her the kids at school were wrong when they told her there was not Santa. And she believed it. I think that was the 6th grade.

Yeah, she was kinda sheltered and naive. She believes nothing I say now! :-)

If you can get her to use it, try a pair of FRS radios.

That's a good idea. But our house isn't really that big. She was standing at the top of the stairs and could have spoken my name in a normal tone of voice. I would've responded.

I mean, fercryinoutloud, I'm the one that hears Luke crying over the TV, the DVD I'm watching on the computer, the dishwasher and Jr....

But she yelled the whole explanation from the top of the stairs. It's a behavior thing.

I'm pretty adamant that she has GOT to learn how to live in our house.

And, when we get some of her other health issues settled, we're gonna start talkin' hearing aid.

I have just found a way to merge fables with the true meaning of the holiday.

True genius there. I kinda did similar things with Myranda. I think it helped her to hold on to the "fables" longer too. Knowing there was a meaning.

Jeepers... this is worse than the fight I saw... and I think the wrong person won in this one.

Man assaulted in movie theater

Viewing "Lord of the Rings" gets violent with man beaten for asking people to keep the noise down.

WFLS News

Date published: 1/6/2004

Apparently some people in Prince William County need to be schooled in the ways of "movie theater ettiquette."

A 39-year-old Triangle man was with his family at a Saturday afternoon screening of "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" at the AMC Theater when the people behind him were making a lot of noise. Police Sergeant Kim Chinn says the man asked the people to keep the noise down.

A while later the group became noisy again and the man turned around and asked them to keep the noise down.

Chinn says one of the people slapped the soda from the man's hand and put him in a head lock and began beating him.

The man suffered injuries to his eye, lip and fingers.

Chinn says they're looking for the suspect who ran from the theater in Potomac Mills Mall.

Good.... this one is a VCD... it will play on computer, but it also plays on my DVD player and Ramius's... so maybe. But if it won't play on TV would be good to have your cable.
