Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I don't have a cell phone, unfortunately...so we'll be out of contact, but if I have the list at least I can call someone if we get delayed or lost.

It was a FRMail... But I will send again.... just got Ruthy's and Ksen's home numbers to add to it. Still waiting for the castle phone number for all of us, and then I will resend the whole list again to everyone.

If'n my oldest boy doesn't get the football scholarship he wants, I'm strongly suggestin' he join the military first.I like this for a several reasons.
Service will build character, and appreciation for our country.
He will appreciate his education MUCH more by earning it himself.
I did night classes during my active duty days. When started school full time, I had 91 hours done, and was 26 yrs old. I knew what I wanted and went after it. My GPA ws 3.72 at graduation. The next guy behind me had a 2.70. You can guess who paid his own way.

You guys do Book-it? We used to do that... my mother could never set a challenge I couldn't meet... the last year, I was eleven, she had me read "Lord of the Rings" for the challenge and then my dad made me answer essay questions!

How many years were you eleven?
To: 2Jedismom
Attaboy Matthew!
To: Professional Engineer
See the comma between 'year' and 'I was eleven'? That indicates another clause. So what I said was, "The last year (of the book-it program, for me), when I was eleven"...
I don't know all the words for grammar, and I don't always bother to do it right, but if there is one thing I know, it is how to read what a sentence really says.

I don't believe in Santa Clause. It's not conservative to do so.

Yes, it's Book-It. I'm pretty lenient. I just want enthusiasm! This year. Next year, I am going to require enthusiasm and a book report for at least 3 chapter books a month. (He has to read six for the Braums ice cream treat.)

I never believed in Santa. In fact we usually have a Santa-fire on Christmas Eve in case anyone does try to come down the fireplace...
