The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

To the picture of the horse --- a bee-you-tiful Irish hunter ---- I posted back at 8068.

Ah yes - I remember!

You had me confused there for a minute, though. ;-)

I just unrolled my sleeping bag and added an extra blanket for entmoot.

Not that it would help any if it were this cold there - but at least it pacifies me this morning.

*shaking head*

God meant me to be warm. I think I messed up the plan.

WHEW!!

I just let the chickens out...their water was solid frozen. I got them some more plus gave them some scratch (all whole grains, like wheat, corn an such). They are sitting down on their feet in the yard eating it!

Poor girls! Ha ha! I'm going to keep the heat lamp on all day, probably.

Hey, here's a first. My hands were slightly damp from getting them some fresh water and my hand stuck to the doorknob.

I miss warm. I don't want it to be cold in Florida! But, Ruthy told me last night this front is going through about the time we get there! I wanted weather in the 80's!

We gots a couple inches of snow already, and it's still coming down. The horses got more hot mash this morning. Cold-weather farming is a pain in the butt!

She said they had a wonderful time, except for the very first day when a woman who was on their tour, but whom they did not know, dropped dead on the steps of the church they were about to enter! It took a couple of days for them to get their stride back,

Uh...yikes! That'd do it all right!

Yeah, four of us went, along with a good sized group from the parish - good sized considering the parish is small, that is. Plus two kids from another parish, a seminarian, and one of our very favorite priests - 12 in all. Kinda symbolic, no? We had a very good time, though we were exhausted at the end.

They had some water main breaks last night. Some schools are closed or delayed.

We LOVE "The Dish". Have watched it many times.

Same for O Brother, for that matter.

As for games...we like regular Balderdash, but play it with a dictionary rather than the board game. It's more portable that way, too! I can bring a dictionary if anyone wants to try that. And I'm GOOD at Balderdash...

Morning.

Scene: A hospital room, a doctor and two nurses enter the room. Patient laying on table.
Doctor: This man needs a defibrolator, stat!
Patient: I'm awake, I'm alert! Leave me alone!
Doctor, gesturing with defib paddles: I'M the professional, You stay out of this! CLEAR!
Doctor defibs patient to loud clack of defib discharge.

Egads! That's way too much facial closeup. I've never met any people that were so perfectly described by their screennames as Rose and Bear. She is a lovely rose of a woman, and he better fits a teddy bear than Roosevelt himself. It was a delightful spending of minutes talking to them.
