Spiderboy made out like a bandit this year. Santa sure did leave lots of cool toys (and even some superman and batman pj's). He has already played with his handheld microscope, RC cars (the size of hotwheels or matchbox cars), transformers, and the two basla gliders. He is wearing his new robe vey proudly (it looks just like dad's too).
Spiderboy was the most impressed by Santa not finishing his cookies. He says that Santa got full, LOL!

Heh! Sounds great! Microscope? You trying to encourage the kid to be a scientist or something?
Wonder what Christmas would be like with one kid. As long as I can remember, we've had a whole crowd. We take turns, opening one present at a time and showing off; today it took us three hours, and there wasn't as much as some years. There's chaos, mess, noise... all the things that mean Christmas to me.

Wonder what Christmas would be like with one kid."Back when", my parents and I used to have an hour or two Christmas morning to exchange presents that were just between us. Then my siblings would start to arrive (being much older than me, they all lived on their own) and we'd exchange more gifts for another hour or so. Then, breakfast! Big platters of sausage, eggs, and toast usually...
Hmmm, I'm hungry. Time to get Rose up I think...

Tryin to encourage him to explore stuff. Doesn't really matter what at this point. Just do more than watch TV for a career. He also got an instrument called a melody harp. Looks just like a miniature hammered dulcimer. Msdrby's dad loved hammered dulcimer's. He had plans to build one, before his early death.

I'm leaving now!

Whoohoo; the festivities will commence shortly. The fire is burning nicely and the cat has discovered that the dining room table is quite comfortable.

Hammered dulcimers are really lovely instruments.
I've been looking for a career where I can just sit and read SF all day. Know any like that?

Ten o'clock! - No kid can wait till TEN! Actually Joseph did wait until 10! Of course I didn't drag myself out of bed until 10:30! But remember, we had already had St. Nick and they opened one gift before they went to bed about 3 am, so they were gonna sleep later anyway!
When I headed up to bed at about 6:30, SSQ had gone to bed with the TV on and the new version of Miracle on 34th St. was on. Of course I just HAD to watch it to the end, which was about 8am, so I only had a nap of about 2 1/2 hrs. I'm waiting to put the ham in the oven, then I'm gonna crash for a couple of hours. Just started the Garlic-Cheese bread in the bread machine, so to time it right, I'll need to wait a few minutes before I put the ham in.
Hope y'all have had a good Christmas, and I sure hope ecurbh is feeling better. It's AWFUL to be sick on Christmas Day!!

Heh, maybe. I do like poking holes in this, and deflating people's egos. But eh, I guess I like computers well enough...

What kind of USB device, Jen. SSQ got David a little thumb drive. He had gotten one for his laptop a few weeks ago and just loves it, so he thought David could use one.
Did you see that SSQ surprised me BIG TIME with a color photo printer! I'm so excited!

My little brothers got a PS2. Mom never let me have anything that cool... LOL!! You sound just like David. We've never heard the end of it that we let Clare and Joseph buy themselves a Dreamcast, then later a GameCube and GameBoys. We had a Nintendo for about 6 mths when David was in 3rd grade, but he played so much, and he and Paul fought over it so much that we got rid of it and made them do computer games and stuff. Well, it got him where he is today, so he can't complain, though he still does. I told Clare to give him her old Gameboy Color so he'd stop complaining, but he says they already have several in the house he rents with about 6 other students, plus they have PS2 and GameCube! He ain't hurtin for entertainment!

Merry Christmas and Happy Yule, Ya'll...
I got my elf-brooch! Also a LOTR puzzle in a cool metal box/tin.

Yeah, mine's a thumb drive... the make is Lexar. It holds 124 MB of data! My dad got himself one in November and he knew I needed one of my own.

About Steve:
I (He) was admitted to the hospital on the morning of Christmas eve, and was unable to keep anything down. By dinner time I(He) was feeling somewhat better and was ready to eat! Steve is out of the hospital now. When he went in yesterday morning they though he had kidney stones but it turned out not to be so. I am happy to hear that because he has had them from time to time since he was about 14 years old and they are very painful.

My USB is gray... it looks sleek and professional.
UGH - it's snowing, and I had to return my grandmother to her house. That was a really hair-raising hour (should have been forty minutes, tops). Glad nobody else was on the road...

So glad to hear that Steve's feeling better, and that WN's food package helped save his life. I'm hoping that the knives for the rest of his platoon are just a few days behind WN's package.
