Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I bought our #2 son, the one who is just finishing up at CMU, the 'Classic' DESPAIR calendar for Christmas! I showed it to SSQ the other night and I thought he was gonna bust a gut laughing! I'll bet David is gonna LOVE it!

I found out something neat today! On our trip back from Entmoot, we were going to have a two hour layover in NYC. Turns out, since we're leaving on the earilier train, there is a later train back to MA and we can take that one. So we'll have a 7 hr. layover and we can hop on the bus or the subway and do some sightseeing! Joseph is dying to go to FAO Schwartz, and see the Empire State Building, so that's gonna be some fun!!
The kids and I are going to be picked up when we arrive at the train station in Orlando by the rental car people, then we can return the car right to the train station when we're leaving to go home!
We'll definitely be able to pick some of y'all up at the airport, and according to MapQuest, it is about an hour and a half ride to the Castle. Between ksen and us, I think we should be able to get everyone who's coming in during that 2-3 timeframe.

Anyone still around?
Local news just teased a story about Trilogy Tuesday here in Austin; apparently they had cameras on the scene at the theater. Looks like a lot of folks went dressed up!

I'm still here. I was cruising the News headlines.
Fixing to go read with the kids and get them to bed. Want to get up earlier in the am so they can get some work done before we go to the movie.

Cool!
Just saw the news story... person at the front of the line was there 36 hours ahead of time. Lots of people dressed up; they had an Aragorn, a Faramir, and an Eowyn, at least. And not just cloaks, but the full costume, including leather breastplate with the White Tree on it.
Nothing about the movie itself though, just talking about the fans going to it.

Have fun storming the theater!

Ack! Change of plans. SSQ wants to see it with us, so we're going Wed. night at 8:30. He and Clare are going early to hold seats and Joseph and I will cut out of his Boy Scout meeting early to head over there.

Am I the first one back? Don't worry. No spoilers here. I'm just stopping by because we just walked back in and the computer was still on...
A couple interesting notes from our Trilogy experience.
People started arriving at 7:00 a.m. We got there at 12:30 and got pretty decent seats.
The guy down the row from us, who had driven from Baltimore was complaining about his seats, especially since they'd bought two tickets on eBay for $400.
My favorite funny wasn't from ROTK. In TTT when Aragorn had the first flashback to Arwen literally at least 25 people (yours truly included) simultaneously got up to go to the restroom. There was giggling all over the theater.
I need to see it again. But for now, I need to sleep.
g'nite

Morning!
I'm up a bit early. Big'ol and Houseguest have to get gone about five to go to this silly conference in Alexandria. Houseguest is a plesant chap- looks like a young John McCain- but the timing of the visit is so aggravating!
I'm sooo excited about you getting to see the Trilogy! Did you at least like ROTK?? Surely you can tell us that without too many spoilers. (I already know the ring gets destroyed...)

Did you at least like ROTK?? Quite honestly? I need to see it again when my butt's not so tired from sitting thru the other two. I liked it.
I am not yet sure that I loved it.
I gotta run. I'm gonna be late for work and I've got a bored meeting this afternoon....zzzzzz....
To: SuziQ
Oh my goodness!! He wasn't very old was he? He and his brother Phil were both in Silly Wizard weren't they? That is SO sad, and what a loss for the Celtic music world! He was 46. I gotta tell ya, this has hit me harder than any other musician's death, partly because of his age and how unexpected it was - I read the e-mail about five times just trying to believe that it was HIS name and not another Scottish fiddler - and partly because I've seen him live, close up, several times. I can picture the way he would play with his bow while talking...his grin...he's a very real person to me in a way that some others never were just because I never saw them in person.
I'm gonna get choked up again if I don't stop...but I really am heartbroken over this!
To: SuziQ
You'll have to bring your CD to Entmoot! Assuming it ever gets finished! ;-)
To: SuziQ
I would love to get a ride with you, if that does work out! Then Margaret and Bill can meet Clare and Joseph - gosh knows they've heard enough about Clare from Stephen! ;-) He really had a great time when we visited. So did Jim, but he's not as talkative, as you might have noticed...

Good morning!
Is it lunchtime yet?
To: RosieCotton
